PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Assist painters by performing duties of lesser skill. Duties include using small hand tools and cleaning work area and equipment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow all safety regulations for the individual as well as other employees, including keeping the work area clean and in orderly condition as well as wearing all appropriate safety attire for the job that is being performed.
• Clean work areas and equipment.
• Perform support duties to assist painters.
• Apply protective coverings such as masking tape to articles or areas that could be damaged or stained by work processes.
• Smooth surfaces of articles to be painted using sanding and buffing tools and equipment.
• Remove articles from the chassis or bed of trucks to avoid being painted.
• Perform all duties assigned by the supervisor.
   

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

EXPERIENCE:

No prior experience is required to perform this job.

TOOLS:

Small hand tools, scaffolds, ladders.

EQUIPMENT/MACHINES:

Sanders.

Attention to detail.
