Responsibilities

Technical system administration – including application support, performance tuning, and security – for critical business systems (ERP and BI)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee a variety of product software and ensure all required maintenance & patching is up to date
  • Monitors system usage; plans and communicates proactive system maintenance and infrastructure changes.
  • Ownership of production systems support and operations in a 24X7 high availability environment
  • Communicate with systems suppliers and direct the work of managed service providers.
  • Demonstrated expertise using technical tools and supporting multiple technical products
  • Able to consistently draw on research and experience to resolve complex problems across multiple products or platforms
  • Helps team consistently meet or exceed team deadlines
  • Takes ownership of issues and sees them through to resolution
  • Able to work with minimal supervision while displaying judgment in prioritization of work
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with IS and related teams

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline strongly preferred, but consideration may be given to an exceptional candidate with 8 years relevant experience
  • At least 4 years relevant work experience required

OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Windows & Linux Operating System Server Environments
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and familiarity with database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Oracle products (EBS, Fusion Middleware, PL/SQL)
  • Experience with BI Tools and Analytics and architecture (Qlikview a plus)
  • Basic ability to write, read and debug scripts (Bash, PowerShell, etc)

  • Good analytical, verbal and written skills required
  • Participate in continuous improvement events
  • Maintain company confidentiality
  • Interact with users for system clarifications and requirements
  • Write system and process documentation
  • Provide user support for Altec associates via phone, email and in person
  • Willingness to work outside standard business hours to resolves issues or complete special projects
  • Track and maintain constant communication with the customer from the beginning to the end of any established case, issue, or concern
  • Remain highly adaptable
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed to perform job duties up to 10%
