 Altec is currently looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist in Birmingham, AL. The purpose of this position is to work with the marketing communications and internal customers to create top quality videos in support of marketing efforts. The specialist will work on all manners of videos, from basic operations videos, corporate initiatives, employee communications, trade show assets, highlight reels, technology/process demonstrations, explainer videos, HR initiatives, training, and thought leadership.

Altec specializes in the manufacture, sale and service of aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes and specialty equipment for the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, construction, and light and sign maintenance industries in more than 120 countries throughout the world.

 


Responsibilities

  • Film, produce and edit video content
  • Write/create company literature, articles, marketing information letters, and other related marketing and promotional material
  • Write advertising copy for use by publication, broadcast or internet media to promote the sale of goods and services
  • Assist with all aspects of planning internal/external meetings or special events
  • Copy, edit, proofread, and revise internal and/or external communications
  • Assist in the development of internal and/or external photos and videos
  • Use creative skills such as design, videography and photography to capitalize on the development and implementation of projects 
  • Participates in creating brand awareness
  • Promote products and services through applicable, established communications channels
  • Appropriate follow-up on customer or public requests
  • All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Marketing or Communications Degree preferred
  • Minimum two years applicable experience required
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills required
  • Current valid Driver’s License
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop relationships with peers to ensure teamwork within the Marketing area
  • Ability to vary language and tone of messages based on product and medium
