Altec Industries is seeking an Associates Controls Engineering Technologist to join the Controls Engineering team. This position will be based at our Elizabethtown, KY plant. The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process for electrical harnesses.  This will include new harness design, converting existing harness designs into Arcadia software, and creating/maintaining production form boards.

Qualifications 
  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • Two-year applicable degree 
  • Four-year applicable degree preferred 
Responsibilities 
  • With guidance from manager or engineers, perform Controls work such as drawings, schematics, wire harness design, bill of materials, form board designs, and other technical documents 
    • Identify when Engineering support is necessary and obtain that support to ensure a quality product
    • Work with suppliers to identify new products and drive standard components 
  • Analyze technical requirements and coordinate across Altec departments and products to determine the most appropriate solution 
  • With guidance from manager or engineers ensure electrical harness designs comply with relevant internal and external standards. 
  • Present design solutions to project teams 
  • With guidance from engineers, assist with or lead updates to harness manufacturing best practices 
  • Provide product support, utilizing other technical personnel as needed  
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives 
  • All other duties as assigned
