Our auction subsidiary, JJ Kane, currently has an opening for a Field Operations Manager at our Ken Porter Auction location in Riverside, CA.  This position will be managing our auction locations in Riverside, CA and San Diego, CA, but the chosen applicant will work from the Riverside, CA location.  This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of these auction sites to ensure a smooth operation before, during and after the sale.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple auction locations
  • Manages associates dedicated to multiple auction sites
  • Works with auction associates to ensure these duties are performed:
    • Maintains inventory of each lot coming into and leaving the auction site
    • Evaluates and describes inventory and determines the estimated selling value
    • Ensures description of items on website is accurate
    • Ensures expenses are allocated to appropriate lots
    • Works closely with customers and sales associates during removal of equipment after the auction
  • Works with our Safety and Environmental manager to ensure compliance with all safety and various EPA local, state, and federal regulations
  • Ensures all required training and inspections are up to date
  • Maintains cost efficiency for locations and manages expenses
  • Works with sales and operations teams for efficient auction procedures
  • Manages local vendors for auction site
  • Works with holding yards to maintain inventory status, equipment audits, and assists with other needs
  • All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Demonstrated successful leadership experience required
  • Auction/heavy equipment/automotive experience strongly preferred
  • Computer skills (including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) at a highly proficient level
  • Knowledge of utility, construction, and aerial device equipment a plus
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb up and down utility equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work well with team members
