Your Organization

This newly created Talent Acquisition Supervisor will partner with managers and human resources colleagues to deliver all facets of recruiting success on the Altec Midwest campus. This success is achieved through developing effective recruiting plans utilizing solid traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. This position needs a strong and enthusiastic person whose responsibility will be to provide direction and support to recruiters who are engaged in the full spectrum of sourcing, identifying, and attracting talent to fill openings on the Midwest campus (St. Joseph, MO & Wathena, KS). The Talent Acquisition Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent through effective sourcing, screening, candidate assessment and process coaching.

Basic Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required
Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Business Degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years’ related experience
  • Recruiting experience required
  • Supervisory experience preferred 
  • Successful supervisors have a passion for customer service and for helping others. This individual thrives in a fast-paced environment, where organization and flexibility are necessary skills.
  • HR Certification (HRCI/SHRM) preferred
  • PC skills using Microsoft Office and HR information systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage recruiting function including supervision of recruiters
  • Direct workload and projects
  • Develop and maintain technical hands-on proficiency with systems, policies, and best practices that guide and facilitate recruitment within Altec so as to provide support and foster improvement
  • Define recruiting needs within the organization or department and best strategies to satisfy
  • Analyze recruiting effectiveness with metrics, providing feedback to the organization, and ensure actions to improve are implemented in the future
  • Work with management to define the vision, strategies, and implementation for recruiting objectives
  • Work with various business units to understand needs and goals
  • Provide budget input and maintain effective relationships with external recruiting vendors
  • Manage community workforce development relationships, such as partnering with trade and tech schools to build future pipelines. 
  • Oversee assigned projects related to recruiting and organizational branding; responsibilities vary based on the assigned projects
  • Continue efforts to research, oversee and implement initiatives, systems and processes to ensure Altec keeps moving forward in the recruiting function on all levels
  • Travel 0-25%
