MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING CO-OP

Altec is currently recruiting Manufacturing Engineering Co-Ops for a two-term commitment, from June-December 2021 at our Burnsville, NC facility. The Burnsville facilty specializes in the design and manufacture of utility truck bodies.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET EAC certified bachelor degree program in Engineering required
  • Enrollment in one of the following majors preferred:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Mechatronics Engineering
• Must be able to work two consecutive terms (Summer/Fall of 2021)

Manufacturing Co-ops

Co-ops will be placed into a manufacturing group and treated like full-time engineers.  They will have projects assigned by the mangers and work side by side full-time associates. Co-ops will be focused on implementing lean manufacturing principles through the RCI (Rapid Continuous Improvement or KAIZEN) process to implement change.  The co-ops will be members and leaders of these teams throughout their time at Altec.
