Altec Industries has a paid Systems Engineering internship opportunity for the Altec Service Group in St. Joseph, MO. The Service Engineering team helps our Service Centers across North America make modifications and additions and helps troubleshoot Customer equipment.

The ideal candidate will be available for 20 – 30 hours / week during normal business hours throughout the year, flexible around class schedule, as well as on a full-time or part-time basis during semester breaks.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university
• Engineering program of study required, with a preference for Electrical or Mechanical
• HS Diploma or GED 

Potential Responsibilities:

• Perform Applications work such as electrical and hydraulic (systems) schematics, BOM’s, drawings and other technical documents
• Identify when Engineering support is necessary and obtain that support to ensure a quality product.
•  Analyze Customer’s technical requirements and coordinate across Altec departments to determine the most appropriate solution.
• Present systems design solutions for Customers.
• Communicate Customer requirements and troubleshoots issues as they arise.
• Provide product support, utilizing other technical personnel as needed.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
