We are currently looking for a Sr. Staff Accountant - Accounts Receivable in Birmingham, AL. This position assists in overseeing Accounts Receivable ensuring accurate maintenance of data and records. This position is also responsible for coordination of associate production and performance while ensuring excellent customer service.

 

Responsibilities  

  • Supervises cash application ensuring all cash receipts are applied properly
  • May assist with high volume data entry, processing and monthly closings as needed
  • Responsible for PCI standards for all Altec Inc companies
  • Closely monitors credit card and banking fraud notices and attempted to safeguard against them
  • Makes recommendations to improve quality of invoicing, cash applications, and collection procedure
  • Responsible for maintaining all vendor relationships for products linked to Accounts Receivables
  • Maintain an open communication with AR associates about issues occurring within the systems or caused by current procedures
  • Responsible for both AR SharePoint sites
  • Support all projects within Accounts Receivables
  • Responsible for testing AR Systems when needed
  • Document and maintain training documents
  • Supervises and trains associates in their position duties and responsibilities per Altec policies and procedures
  • Reports discrepancies, concerns or problems to manager immediately
  • All other duties as assigned

 Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field required 
  • CPA preferred
  • Three plus years experience in a general accounting position required
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills required specifically Word and Excel
  • Current valid Driver’s License
  • Mechanical aptitude, product or industry knowledge preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
