Assembler – CDL – Off Shift

There are immediate opportunities for an Assembler - Shag Driver with a CDL – Off Shift in St. Joseph, Missouri who will be responsible for driving between Altec locations, cleaning/detailing vehicles and component assembly  -  to produce world-class Altec Equipment. 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Material Handling/Forklift experience
  • Mechanical assembly experience required
  • CDL Class A or B required
  • Computer skills including bar-coding, ability to read and understand technical documents – ie. Engineering documents, schematics
  • Ability to work off shift (majority will be on 3rd shift)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vocational technical school certificate in a manufacturing field
  • Hydraulic & Electrical Skills
  • Experience in the utility industry

Responsibilities:

  • To drive and move product between Altec locations
  • To provide quality and timely workmanship on each job performed
  • Reads blueprints and hydraulic diagrams
  • Reads and understands tape measure
  • Clean, Wash and Detail vehicles and other Altec equipment
  • Take pictures and document loose components on completed vehicles
  • Performs re-work as required
  • Follows all established safety & quality policies and practices
  • Learn and follow all work instructions and JQR’s
  • Prepare and fit multiple components together
  • Learn and operate all equipment within the department
  • Support APS initiatives – Lean Manufacturing
  • Willing to move to other areas of production as needed
