  • PURPOSE OF POSITION:
    Install electrical wiring systems and components on the mid section and tail end of the body on the trucks. Also involves troubleshooting electrical malfunctions.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Follow all safety regulations for the individual as well as other employees, including keeping the work area clean and in orderly condition as well as wearing all appropriate safety attire for the job that is being performed.
  2. Install lights, strobe lights, back up alarms, trailer plugs, back up cameras, etc. on trucks.
  3. Assemble electrical or electronic systems and support structures; and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casings, using rivets and bolts.
  4. Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
  5. Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports in order to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.
  6. Follow Plant 27 general work instructions
  7. Inspect, operate and test products to ensure that customer expectations are met.
  8. Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and wiring problems and use critical thinking to solve problems.
  9. Cross train in other areas of final assembly such as Hydraulics and Welding assembly.
  10. Perform all duties assigned by the supervisor.


  • EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
    High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend required.
  • Basic computer usage knowledge required.
  • Ability to read tape measures, blue prints, and schematics required.
  • General knowledge of at least one of the following required.
  •  Mechanical
  • Hydraulics
  • Electrical
  • Manufacturing / Production processes



    OTHER POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
    • Keep a clean work area (5S).
    • Assist co-workers as needed.
    • May participate in RCI events.
    • May be required to learn Altec Programs and/or systems. 
    • Shift work may be required.
