This individual will directly supervise Human Resources associates along with Human Resources programs and policies including staffing, compensation, benefits, associate relations, training, payroll and safety programs.  The Business Partner will serve as the primary HR point of contact for a Plant within the Midwest facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Five years Human Resources experience required
    • 7-10 years preferred, with experience in a manufacturing environment optimal
  • 2 years of Supervisor experience preferred
  • PHR preferred
  • PC skills using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and personnel information systems required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Advises managers and associates on state and federal employment regulations, benefit and compensation policies, HR procedures etc.
  • May supervise HR Representatives and/or Administrative Support Associates performing recruiting, payroll, benefits, and other HR duties
  • Conducts exit interviews and ensures that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed
  • Assists in preparing and maintaining HR records
  • Consults with or serves as a technical liaison between business, industry, and government
  • Implements, administers and evaluates HR programs, including performance affirmative action and employment equity
  • Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements
  • Plans and develops curricula and materials for training programs and conducts training
  • Provides input to management for the resolution of associate relations issues and investigations
  • Conducts or directs the internal investigation of compliance issues; Conducts periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed; Consults with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues
  • Participates in unemployment hearings with state government and third-party administrators
  • Serves as a confidential point of contact for associates to communicate with management
  • All other duties as assigned
