POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensure customer satisfaction and provide assistance to customers and associates with regards to equipment, parts, and service requirements

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer calls should average 20-30 or more per day to ensure the Customer Service area is attaining Altec’s standard in excellence
  • Successful completion of Altec Sales Training
  • Must understand basic principles of customer service and practice those principles to ensure excellence to existing and new customers
  • Enter all orders accurately into the system, including Ship To, Bill To, Method of Shipping, Urgency, Ship Complete, etc.
  • Must follow-up promptly and timely with Customers with open issues/questions
  • AR Over 90 Days should maintain at or less than 2% of average monthly revenue
  • Always interact with the customer using proper phone etiquette and professionalism
  • Responsible to communicate with Warehouse and Purchasing Departments to ensure proper parts are available for each order to meet the needs of customers
  • Build relationships with Customers based on respect, understanding, and service to their needs
  • Participate in RCI events as requested
  • Promote safe working habits
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, or
  • One year Altec Manufacturing or Service, or
  • Two years’ experience in a similar or related field (other than Altec) required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel required; Knowledge of Oracle and Lotus Notes preferred; Demonstrated computer skills required
  • Knowledge of hydraulic schematics preferred
  • Excellent communication skills required
