Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The IS Senior Consultant plays a pivotal role in guiding delivery teams across the organization towards effective Agile practices, delivering high-quality products, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership skills to inspire, coach, and support Agile frameworks to optimize team workflows and ensure efficient project delivery. This person will closely collaborate with multiple delivery teams to manage dependencies, remove impediments, and drive seamless release execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) with a focus on maximizing team efficiency and high-quality results.
- Identify, track, and resolve impediments to mitigate potential impacts on project delivery.
- Manage cross-functional activities to identify dependencies, testing, release timelines to execute.
- Forecast beyond day-to-day activities, proactively managing risks, developing, and implementing strategies to address obstacles that hinder the team’s progress.
- Act as a liaison between delivery teams to ensure clear and effective communication among delivery teams.
- Analyze and report key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive actionable next steps.
- Understand resource and capacity allocations across teams to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Track and manage the progress of release activities, ensuring timely and successful releases.
- Use Jira to manage and track Scrum ceremonies effectively, providing transparency and facilitating communication.
- Monitor team dynamics and performance, using feedback and metrics to address issues and enhance team cohesion.
- Advocate Agile best practices within the organization and promote a mindset of agility and adaptability across teams.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives developing and executing improvement plans.
- Provide leadership to teams on Agile principles, practices, and processes, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence.
- Cultivate an environment that values mutual respect, openness, and courage.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline strongly preferred but consideration may be given to an exceptional candidate with ten years relevant work experience
- At least six years of relevant work experience required
- Deep expertise in Scrum principles and practices, with a strong ability to facilitate Scrum ceremonies.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills, with experience guiding teams through process improvement.
- Intellectually curious and enthusiastic about learning new skills, and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to communicate openly, honestly, and directly.
- Excel at working independently or with minimal direction, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Strong ability to understand and empathize with others, fostering positive relationships and effective teamwork.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with team members at all levels and openly receptive to feedback.
- Continuous learning and up-to-date knowledge of Agile methodologies and best practices.
- Moderate to advanced skills with Agile tools such as Jira
The job level may be modified upward based on the qualifications of the candidate
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with additional Agile frameworks such as Kanban.
- Experience with developing metric dashboards using BI tools.
- Experience as an Agile Coach or process improvement champion.
- Advanced Jira skills
