Job Description

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POSITION:  

Development, implementation, monitoring and coordination of safety and environmental programs, policies, and procedures to support the plant-wide EH&S efforts.  

MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES:  

Leads RCI's and projects to implement safety and environmental programs 

Completes projects related to the Safety Maturity Matrix and Environmental Sustainability Scorecard 

Performs weekly safety and environmental audits, distributes findings to area leaders and follows-up on corrective actions 

Setup and lead meetings with various departments to complete projects when needed  

Assist with investigation and implementation of corrective actions for accidents, SAR's, Near Hits and audit findings  

Coordinates and/or assists with safety and environmental training 

Maintains safety and environmental supplies and equipment around campus as needed 

Member of the First Responder and HAZWOPER teams 

Maintains safety files, documentation and records 

Demonstrates strong communication skills with associates, supervisors, managers, other shifts and other departments  

Maintains confidentiality  

Limited travel may be required 

Performs duties on 2nd shift as well as weekends when required 

Follows established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and practices 

Other job duties as assigned 

 

 

Basic Qualifications 

 
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:  

High School Diploma or GED required 

Experience 

Internal Applicants-Two years of Altec experience required  

External Applicants-Two years of Environmental and Safety experience required 

Required participation in RCI presentations and trainings  

Basic computer knowledge required 

Must be willing to become a First Responder 

Good understanding of Altec’s safety and environmental policies and procedures desired (internal candidates) 

General knowledge of the work performed in production desired
