Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for leading teams in the design, implementation, administration, and management of an Enterprise multi-cloud environment (including private cloud)
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s enterprise cloud infrastructure strategy
- Lead teams responsible for operations and administration of IaaS and PaaS platforms
- Collaborate with development teams for infrastructure provisioning
- Coordinate and communicate with other IS groups such as security, support desk, application delivery, etc. to deliver value to the business through secure, reliable, high-performing systems.
- Analyze and evaluate the performance and usage of the cloud infrastructure systems and provide reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Responsible for managing infrastructure costs and budgets
- Coordinate and plan with teams to ensure infrastructure is highly available and recoverable
- Oversee data backup and recovery procedures for all systems.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and developments with relevant infrastructure technologies; explore and recommend new opportunities and solutions for the company.
- Participates in managing infrastructure supplier relationships
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline strongly preferred, but consideration may be given to an exceptional candidate with 7 years of relevant experience.
- At least 5 years relevant work experience designing, implementing, administrating, and managing cloud infrastructure at an enterprise scale
- Proven experience in leading teams
- Proven server administration experience with Windows or Linux Operation Systems
OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiar with automation and scripting technologies used with infrastructure technologies
- Experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog, or similar technologies
- Able to draw on research and experience to resolve complex problems
- Ability to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution

- Interaction with teams helping with requirements and implementations
- Write system and process documentation
- Provide user support for Altec associates via phone, email and in person
- Willingness to work outside standard business hours to resolves issues or complete special projects
- Track and maintain constant communication with the customer from the beginning to the end of any established case, issue, or concern
- Remain highly adaptable
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must be willing to travel as needed to perform job duties up to 25%
