Job Description


Altec is hiring a Sr. Accounting Associate in Birmingham, AL (Corporate Office). This position will be in our Accounts Payable Department which is responsible for processing invoices, maintaining customer relations and supplier records. 


Responsibilities (duties may include any or all of the following responsibilities)

  • High volume data entry with limited errors 

  • Processing payments for suppliers or customers  

  • Researching payment issues 

  • Daily runs to post office, knowledge of operating postage and inserter machine  

  • Create and/or review monthly statements for suppliers or customers 

  • Communication with suppliers or customers regarding account status 

  • Assists in monthly closings as needed 

  • Assists with regulatory and tax compliance 

  • All other duties as assigned 


Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required 

  • Two years’ applicable experience required 

  • Banking knowledge preferred 

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals 

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent  

  • PC skills Office 365 suite 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Must be able to work with team members and work with limited supervisor
