Job Description

Responsibilities

Altec Worldwide (AWW) is hiring an Accountant (Bilingual preferred) in Birmingham, AL. This position is responsible for translating documents, reviewing and processing AP/AR invoices, reviewing expense reports in English and Spanish, providing customer/supplier support, and assisting in month-end close procedures/reconciliations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review and code invoices and expense reports for payment
  • Audit expenses/payables to ensure compliance and cost control and report findings as necessary
  • Review and finalize Accounts Receivable invoices
  • Process warranty claim credits
  • Assist with monthly AR and AP close
  • Provide customers and suppliers assistance and support as needed
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Complete various monthly and quarterly reports as required
  • Maintain customer credit files including conversion of  all financials to US currency and input data for ratio calculation
  • Calculate various taxes including GST, VAT, etc.
  • Review and analyze WIP jobs
  • Review and analyze Gross Margin reports
  • Assist with customer setups and export control reviews
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 2 years of industry experience required
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred (verbal and written)

 

The job level is able to be adjusted at time of hire, if the candidate meets the qualifications for jobs of a more experienced level in the career path.
