Credit Underwriter

Responsibilities

Altec Capital Services (ACS), a division of Altec, is hiring a Credit Underwriter in Birmingham, AL. This position analyzes and reviews credit risk and credit reports to accept or reject renewal/new financial credit applications.

Altec Capital offers customized lease and purchase financing solutions, to make every purchase more affordable and convenient for our customers. 

Altec specializes in the manufacture, sale and service of aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes and specialty equipment for the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, construction, and light and sign maintenance industries in more than 120 countries throughout the world.

Responsibilities

Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.

• Researches and analyzes information for potential customers
• Analyze financial or operational performance of companies facing financial difficulties to identify or recommend remedies
• Arrange financing of deals from sources such as financial institutions or other agencies
• Collaborate on projects with other professionals, such as lawyers, accountants, or public relations experts
• Confer with clients to restructure debt, refinance debt, or raise new debts
• Coordinate due diligence processes and the negotiation or execution of purchase or sale agreements
• Create client presentations of plan details
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Employ financial models to develop solutions to financial problems or to assess the financial or capital impact of transaction
• Evaluate capital needs of clients and assess market conditions to inform structuring of financial packages
• Perform securities valuation or pricing
• Prepare all materials for transactions or execution of deals
• Communicates credit information within Altec Capital Inside Sales, Account Managers, Syndications as well as the Funding Partners
• Supervise, train, or mentor junior team members
• Assists Credit Managers with various tasks as needed

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required.
• Must be able to work with team members
