ENGINEERING CO-OP

Responsibilities

Altec Industries is seeking Co-Op Engineers at our truck body plant in Burnsville, NC. Engineering students will have the opportunity to work in one of four areas; Design, Manufacturing, Quality or Scheduling/Logostics.

In order to qualify for the co-op program students:

• Must be enrolled as an undergraduate, full time student in the College or University, in good standing and the ability to complete multiple sessions.
• Completed a minimum of 24 hours of coursework, or have earned sophomore class standing.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Majoring in Engineering with concentrations in Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronics preferred
• Must commit to 6 month assignment from July 2023-December 2023.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using standard operating procedures, established engineering processes and basic calculations, perform routine engineering assignments, including research, testing, design and/or development.
• Applies engineering procedures and calculations to develop solutions to problems which require some minor innovation.
• With technical guidance engineers, gathers and evaluates engineering data in order to apply knowledge to relevant assignments.
• Interact in an effective and appropriate manner with other Altec staff, including engineers, manufacturing supervisors and production associates in order to complete projects and assignments.
